Hi, I’m Wendy!

As a “third culture kid”, born in China, then immigrating to Canada at the age of 4, my whole life could be characterized as a search for home and belonging. My first home was in the 热闹 (rè nào, or bustling) of my grandparents’ Changsha apartment, filled with the warmth of family. A second home was found in the Westdale Branch of the Hamilton Public Library and all the books I consumed there from ages 4 to 18.

Since embarking on adulthood, I have found home in the hills of a little farm outside of Paris, in the forests of Quebec, in quiet early mornings, in walking, on Bowen Island and especially at Rivendell and in contemplative Christian spaces at large. Home is also in the company of my family and dearest friends. Most recently—and most delightfully—I have started coming home to myself.

When I am there—with myself—I can hear a still, small voice calling me to listen, to write, to gather, and to perform.

Welcome to the digital home for these things, a place where I share my writing and a variety of group and individual offerings to those asking questions like, who am I? What am I called to do? How do I live in a way that is authentic and realistic for me?

In my exploration of these questions, I lean heavily on the use of creativity and conversation, and draw on my background in counselling psychology.

Thanks for dropping by, and if any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you!
